Christy Stevens will appear on the March 17, 2026 primary ballot as the democratic candidate for McHenry County Board, District 8. Please remember to request a democratic ballot in order to be able to vote for her in the primary.

Christy Stevens has announced her intention to run for County Board. She has lived in McHenry County since 1981. "I have seen many changes in the county over the past 40 some year's, some good and some not so good."

"Today we are faced with an aging infrastructure, while trying to expand it to accommodate new development. We are also dealing with a lack of affordable housing. Other areas of concern are; water quality, open land and conservation, maintaining agriculture, RE taxes, economic opportunity/development, global warming impacts, renewable energy and sustainable growth. To compound the problems we are faced with is the loss of federal funding for many of services and programs that some of our citizens depend upon."

"We need new thinking to address this era of change and to bring order to the chaos. I know that my life experiences have prepared me for this challenge."
